2013 Buick Encore Rated at 33 MPG Highway

2013 Buick Encore

When Buick's new compact crossover, the 2013 Encore, goes on sale early next year, it will have an EPA fuel economy rating of 25/33/28 mpg city/highway/combined, according to GM.

That's the best fuel economy rating of any naturally aspirated Buick; the Buick Regal and LaCrosse with eAssist outperform it, though. The Encore's rating is for the front-wheel-drive model. No word yet on figures for the all-wheel-drive model.

The Encore's gas mileage numbers are a little better than the 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman with an automatic transmission (25/30/27 mpg).

The Buick crossover is powered by a single powertrain: a 140-horsepower, turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic transmission. It goes on sale early next year.
